About Shrivenham

Shrivenham Well

Shrivenham Well

Shrivenham is a large rural village in Oxfordshire located between Swindon and Faringdon, that was historically part of Berkshire and is close to the border with Wiltshire. Shrivenham features many thatched cottages, stone walls, an ancient pump with a slate roof and a Norman church. The picturesque High Street is lined with thatched cottages and pollarded trees.

Each year, the village hosts the Shrivenham Village Fete which has been held for 25 years. Shrivenham is twinned with the town of Mortree in France and the village has been the site of UK military colleges since 1946 including the Defence College of Management and Technology at Cranfield University.

The village maintains the Memorial Hall which dates back to 1925 and was built in Cotswold stone.
